Programmer's Corner
WSxM is currently freeware designed and developed by Nanotec Electronica SL (Nanotec). Nanotec has decided to
provide WSxM as freeware because we believe WSxM is a natural and intuitive tool for data processing in SPM. For
most users WSxM should be powerful enough since it includes many common processes.
However, there will be expert users who may need very special features in the software. In many cases these
users have experience building their own code. If you want to make WSxM even more versatile, you may send us your
code fully documented with a brief explanation of the aim of the process which is being implemented. After an
evaluation of the general interest, as well as of the interfacing possibilities, we will notify you and include
your code as a part of the WSxM program.
Your name/s and a reference (if any) to the process will be included on a list of contributors that will
be displayed in the information about the developers, authors and contributors of the WSxM software ("About Menu").
A copy of the software with the new features will be sent to the contributors and the program on our Web Site
will also include the corresponding feature.
Potential contributors acknowledge that the following rules apply to their submitted work
(i.e. the code):
Contributors' rights
- Nanotec acknowledges the contributor as author of the code submitted to the Web Site of Nanotec.
- By sending code to Nanotec's Web Site, the contributors do not limit their right over their work (i.e. the code)
in any way other than authorizing or licensing Nanotec to use their work.
- If Nanotec decides to use the code submitted by the author, it is the intention of Nanotec to include the name
of the contributor in the corresponding information menu ("About Menu").
Nanotec's rights
- By sending the code to Nanotec's web site the contributor authorizes Nanotec to use their work. Nanotec may
include this code as a part of WSxM code without any counterpart other than the acknowledgement of the work
and an executable copy of the WSxM program including the contributors work. In addition, Nanotec has the right
to modify the code submitted, in order to introduce the code into the general WSxM source code.
- Nanotec reserves the right to decide the software that will be included in the WSxM program. Hence, submission
of a code file does not necessarily imply its inclusion in the WSxM software.
- When a code file has been accepted and included in the WSxM execute file Nanotec reserves all the rights to use
the new WSxM.exe file.
- Submitting code to Nanotec will not grant any rights on the software or systems developed by Nanotec other
than those specified above.
